Privacy Policy
How account information, creative content, payments, and support requests are handled by this website.
Last updated: 2026-09-15
1. Scope and contact
This policy describes how we handle personal information when you use our music and video tools. It covers our website and account services, not another website you choose to visit. External processing used to deliver a feature is described below. Our Terms of Service explain your responsibilities when submitting content.
You can send a privacy request to hi@minimaxmusic.app without registering or signing in. Mark it as a privacy request and identify the account or information concerned. Do not send passwords, full card numbers, or identity documents unless a specific, necessary verification step has been agreed.
2. Information involved
The information processed depends on the features you use:
- Account and sign-in information: name, email address, profile image, account identifiers, and information supplied by a login provider when you choose that method. Session and registration records can include IP address, browser information, language, and referral source.
- Creative content: prompts, lyrics, uploaded songs and reference images, generated audio and video, project settings, media metadata, and audio analysis used to prepare your project.
- Activity and transaction records: generation status, task and project identifiers, credit usage, orders, subscriptions, transaction results, and invoice or billing metadata. Payment processors handle payment credentials; our payment integrations do not store full payment card numbers in our database.
- Support information: messages, attachments, and the account or transaction details you provide when requesting help.
- Browser and usage information: cookies and local or session storage used for sign-in, language, preferences, and drafts. If optional analytics, advertising, or external support integrations are enabled, those integrations may also process device, event, and interaction information.
Provide only information needed for your task. Do not upload confidential documents or sensitive personal information unless the feature is suitable and you have a lawful basis and any required consent. Another person’s voice or likeness can be personal information even when it is part of a creative work.
3. Why information is used
We use information to create and secure accounts; process requested generation, analysis, storage, playback, and export; maintain project history; calculate credits and handle transactions; respond to support requests; and investigate errors, misuse, security incidents, and disputes. Records may also be needed to comply with applicable legal obligations.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, processing must rely on an applicable basis, such as performing the service you request, complying with legal duties, legitimate operational and security interests where permitted, or consent where required. This policy is not blanket consent to unrelated uses. Where consent is required for optional processing, it must be obtained separately and can be withdrawn subject to applicable law.
4. Who receives information
Providing a feature may require disclosure to providers of AI models and inference computing, hosting and media storage, authentication, payments, email, and support. For example, a music request sends its prompt, lyrics, and generation settings for processing; a video request may send scene descriptions and reference image or audio links. A processing provider may use another model or infrastructure provider to fulfill the request.
If enabled, analytics, advertising, and embedded support tools may receive information through their scripts, cookies, or events. The data involved depends on the integration and your choices. Optional third-party tools are subject to their applicable privacy terms; this policy does not claim that all such tools are enabled or that their data use is identical.
We may also disclose information when legally required, to address fraud or threats to rights and safety, or as part of a lawful business transfer subject to applicable data protection duties. Sharing necessary to run a generation task does not mean that we publish your work in a public gallery.
5. AI processing and media links
Our handling of content and the handling by external processing services are not the same. Retention, access, and any permitted use for model improvement depend on the service and its applicable arrangements. We do not make a universal promise that every external model retains nothing or never uses any submitted information for improvement. The service permission in our Terms does not grant us an unrestricted right to repurpose your work.
Account-owned music and project access use access controls, but not every media link has the same protection. Some uploaded attachments or media passed through processing services can have publicly accessible URLs. A person who obtains such a link may be able to access the file. Avoid sharing those links unintentionally and do not use them to store confidential material.
Removing a reference from a project or hiding a record does not necessarily erase the underlying file immediately. Copies held by processing providers, caches, or backups may follow a separate retention process.
6. Cookies and browser storage
Essential cookies and similar storage support authentication and security. Other storage remembers language, preferences, or unfinished work; some drafts remain only in the browser session. You can clear or restrict browser storage using your browser settings, which may sign you out, remove drafts, or affect functionality.
Where optional cookies or similar technologies require consent, that requirement applies before they are used. Clearing cookies does not delete your server-side account, orders, or projects. Privacy requests about those records can be submitted through support.
7. Location and retention
Our providers may process information in countries other than where you live, with different data protection laws. Applicable transfer restrictions and safeguards must be respected. We do not promise that every file remains in one country or that every provider uses the same storage location.
Information is retained for the purposes described here, including providing your account and projects, maintaining transaction records, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. The necessary period varies by data type, legal requirements, account status, and the providers involved; there is no single deletion period for all records and media.
When a deletion request applies, it may require separate handling of active records, stored files, and provider-held copies. Certain information may need to remain for legal, security, or transaction reasons, and backups may expire separately. We will explain relevant limits when handling your request rather than treating removal from the interface as proof that every copy has been erased.
8. Your choices and requests
You can update available profile fields in Profile settings and manage subscriptions in Billing. Subscription cancellation does not itself delete personal information.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing, or an objection to processing, and may withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Email hi@minimaxmusic.app to make the request. Requests that cannot be completed in account settings can be submitted to support.
We may need to verify your identity and clarify the scope before acting, while limiting verification information to what is necessary. Requests are subject to applicable deadlines, exceptions, and the rights of other people. You may also have a right to complain to the relevant data protection authority.
9. Security and children
Access controls and account security features help protect information, but no online service can guarantee complete security. Protect your credentials and report suspected account misuse through support. A security incident will be handled in accordance with applicable notification duties.
The service is intended for people legally able to use it under the Terms. It is not directed to children below the age at which they may lawfully use the service or provide the required consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information without the necessary authorization, contact us so that the situation can be assessed and the information handled as required by law.
10. Policy updates
The date above identifies the current policy. We may revise it when features, processing arrangements, or legal requirements change. We will provide any notice or obtain any fresh consent required for a material change. Changes to this page do not override your statutory rights.
